A New Day

Yesterday Warren Buffett said of Barack Obama, “You couldn’t have anybody better in charge.” I agree.

Yet the challenges we face are unprecedented. And as Obama himself has frequently reminded us, it isn’t going to be easy. We’ve been digging this hole for years, if not decades - and it will take years to get us out.

Obama is widely expected to call for a new era of responsibility today. He is redefining the concept of the ownership society. He is a president, after all, and that means his power is granted to him by the people. It is our country. If we are to get out of this, it is not something he will do for us. It is something we will do together.

So let me join with millions of people worldwide in saying, best of luck, President Obama. We are all going to need it.
